Internet Use Policy

Internet Access at the Library

The Internet, a world-wide network of computer networks is an essential medium for obtaining and transmitting information of all types. Therefore, public access to the Internet is germane to the Library's mission.

General Library Rules

Identification

As a condition of entering and using the library for any purpose patrons must have a valid borrower's card or other current, valid, and verifiable identification.

If you do not have a library card with us you must sign in at the circulation desk. Patrons unable or unwilling to meet these requirements will be required to leave the premises.

Checking Bags, Parcels, Briefcases, and Similar Items

As a condition of entering the and using the library for any purpose whatsoever patrons must agree to the following:

Have Microfilm Sent to You

If you're unable to come to the library to conduct microfilm research, and the search is too intensive (and therefore too costly) for us to do it, you have one last option.

We can lend microfilm reels to your local library.

Simply go to your local library and request an Interlibrary Loan. Tell the individual you make the request to that the Asbury Park Public Library has the Asbury Park Press on microfilm and indicate the dates you would like to borrow.

Replacing Your Library Card

ATTENTION: IF YOU LOSE YOUR LIBRARY CARD DO NOT RE-APPLY FOR A NEW LIBRARY CARD! THIS MAY DELAY YOUR REPLACEMENT CARD.

If you've already had a card with us, and lost it, you'll need to get a duplicate library card. The first library card you get is free.  Duplicate cards are $3.00 each.  When you come in and pay the $3.00 lost card fee we'll re-take your photo and issue you a new library card. In most cases your new library card can be ready in a matter of minutes.
