Brief Biography: Born on January 19, 1966 in the small town of Cayes, Haiti, Eddy Gaetan was inspired by his uncle to start painting. He remained an amateur painter until 1986. In 1996, he perfected his painting technique and focused on the theme of nature and jungles. In 2000, he was one of twenty-one artist chosen to participate in a National Art Competition organized by the Minister of Culture. The exposure from the competition led to exhibitions in MUPANAH and the Center for the Arts.
Exhibition History: To date Eddy Gaetan’s paintings are part of the permanent collection at MUPANAH and the Haitian Art Museum at St. Pierre College. Prior to the devastating earthquake in January of 2010, many of Gaetan’s paintings were also on display in the National Palace of Haiti.
