Search the Asbury Park Press Microfilm Yourself

If you live locally (or are willing to make a trip to Asbury Park) you can come to our library, use the microfilm reels on our microfilm machine, and do the microfilm research yourself.

There is a fee of $3.00 per hour if you don’t have a library card with us. (Cardholders have free access.) If you need to make copies, each copy or printout is $.25.

If you are going to be using our library frequently for microfilm use, we suggest that you apply for a library card with us, especially if you live in Asbury Park, New Jersey, or otherwise qualify for a free library card.

Even, if you don’t qualify for a free card, subscription cards may be purchased for only $25.00 per year. Having a library card with us is more cost effective than paying $3.00 per hour (particularly if you have a lot of research to do) and being a cardholder entitles you to other benefits as well, such as using the computer and checking out books.

Please Be Aware – The Microfilm Collection is Not Indexed

The microfilm collection is not indexed or keyword searchable. It is only categorized by date.  We recommend patrons try to obtain the exact date, or as close to the exact date as possible in order make the research process a little easier.
